Recently in Dubrovnik, a project titled "Dubrovnik Gastro Quality" has been initiated. This has been implemented by the City of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the City of Dubrovnik Tourist Board, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Tourist Board, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Chamber of Commerce, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Chamber of Trades and Crafts and the Dubrovnik Craftsmen Association.

  The main objective of the "Dubrovnik Gastro Quality" project is the long-term improvement of the quality of Dubrovnik hospitality offering through the stimulation and advancement of traditional gastronomic values, as well as the affirmation of product and service quality as a recognizable trait of Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

After the implementing agencies signed the Agreement on the organisation of this project, the project team prepared the Regulation on the criteria and proceedings for awarding the "Dubrovnik Gastro Quality" mark and the "Criteria for monitoring, scoring and ranking". This was on the basis of a 3-member commission, made up of two renowned gastro experts and one anonymous citizen, scoring and ranking the hospitality facilities. Once the evaluation is complete, hospitality facilities that exceed the set threshold of 80 points are awarded the "Dubrovnik Gastro Quality" mark. Restaurant owners that fail to exceed the point threshold will be given the scorecard in order to examine which criteria they need to improve upon in order to reach the point threshold. 

Those awarded with the "Dubrovnik Gastro Quality" mark are particularly highlighted and promoted on the website of the "Dubrovnik Gastro Quality" project, www.dubrovnikgastroquolity.com, which will be accessible from the websites of the Organisers, and will be presented in publications they publish as well as promoted in other available ways.

Judging by the applications received to date, there is no doubt that hospitality facilities are very keen to receive the "Dubrovnik Gastro Quality" mark. In the event of interest in the project from other parts of the county, applications will also be accepted from outside of Dubrovnik.
