Of what nature was the Zrinski-Frankopan conspiracy?
The Zrinski-Frankopan conspiracy was a revolt of young Croat and Hungarian nobles against the authority of the Habsburg Monarchy provoked by centralist and germanising aspirations of the Court in Vienna. It was triggered by the peace treaty of Vasvar (1664). The conspirators sought help in France, Poland and Turkey without success and sought pardon in vain in Vienna (1670). All of the conspirators where condemned and executed (1671) in Wiener Neustadt.
