How many types of wine with certified geographic denomination exist in Croatia?
In Croatia there are as many as 700 types of wine with certified geographic denomination. Exceptional Istrian wines include Malvazija from Buje, Cabernet, Sauvignon from Poreč, Merlot and Teran from Buzet, Vrbnik's Žlahtina, the sparkling wine Bakarska Vodica and so on. Renowned Dalmatian wines include Dingač and Pošip from the Pelješac peninsula, Babić from Primošten, Vugava and Plančić from the island of Hvar, Pošip and Grk from Korčula, Marastina from Lastovo, Malvazija from Dubrovnik, as so forth. Well known wines from northwest Croatia are: Portugizac from Plješivica and Jastrebarsko, Rhenish Risling and Chardonnay from Strigovana, Muscat Ottonel from Božjakovina, Pinot Blanc from Sveti Ivan Zeline, Moslovina čkrlet from Voloder. From the area of Slavonia and Baranja prized wines are: Kutjevo's Graševina and Chardonnay, Enjingi's Rhenish Risling, Krautheker's and Zdjelarević's Graševina, Traminac from Ilok, Pinot Blanc from Pajzoš and Endent's Risling from Belje.
