What is the average salinity of the Adriatic Sea?

The total amount of salt from one kilogram of seawater is called the salinity of the sea and is usually expressed in grams or parts per thousand. The salinity of the Adriatic Sea is on the average 38.3 parts per thousand, that is, 38.3 grams of salt are extracted from 1 kg of water. In the northern part the salinity is somewhat lower than in the mid and southern Adriatic due to the influence of the River Po.
