What types of trees make up the largest part of Croatia's forests?

The types of trees that make up the largest part of the total area of Croatia under forests are deciduous. Under deciduous are counted Beech, «Lužnjak», «Kitnjak», «Medunac» and «Crnika» Oaks, field Ash, common Hornbeam, domestic Chestnut, Poplar and Willow. Deciduous trees cover 89.03% of the total 2,077,580 km2 of forest area in Croatia, that is 1,849,642 km2. Spread over the remaining 10.97%, more exactly 227,938 km2, is coniferous trees: Spruce, Fir, Oak, Black Pine, Scots pine, Alpine pine and Maritime Pine.
