What are the types of relief present in Croatia and what is their prevalence?
By height (depth), shapes, breakdown and slope Croatia can be divided into six types of relief. These are lowland (plains), flatlands (basins), rolling hills and uplands, highlands and mountains, coastline and semi-maritime. Lowlands up to 200 m above sea level are most prevalent making up as much as 53% of the total area of mainland Croatia, mostly the territory of eastern Croatia. One fourth is made up of hilly country and uplands from 200 to 500 m above sea level, with only a fifth of Croatia found above 500 m. The area of high mountains, higher than 1500 m, is insignificant.
